Residential Roofing Needs in Henderson County

The most popular type of roofing material in Henderson County, NC, is asphalt shingles, and for good reason. In addition to being durable and affordable, asphalt shingles can withstand the county’s ever-changing weather and help protect your home from the elements. Whether the temperature is balmy in the winter or rainy and hurricane-prone in the summer, asphalt shingles can withstand nearly all of it. Timely roof repairs are important for homeowners with a damaged roof to prevent further issues and maintain the integrity of their property.

Other residential roofing options are available if you dislike asphalt shingles or simply don’t want them on your roof. For example:

  • Clay tiles are popular in the Southeast and the Southwest of the United States, though some homeowners in Henderson County prefer the material for cosmetic purposes. Homes with a Mediterranean influence or appearance (such as those in the so-called “Spanish” or “Italian” styles) have these terracotta tiles on their roofs. Although these tiles are more expensive than asphalt shingles, they also have a much longer “life” and can last up to 100 years with proper care and maintenance.
  • Concrete tiles have risen in popularity as the severity and frequency of hurricanes in the area have increased. These durable and affordable tiles don’t blow off the roof as easily during a storm, but they require more labor and reinforcement (as most homes in the area don’t have sufficient support on the roofs to “hold” these types of tiles).
  • Metal roofing is available in sheet and shingle form, which is more prevalent in residential homes for aesthetic purposes. When installed correctly, metal roofing can last up to 80 years and is virtually leak-proof (making it increasingly popular in the wake of the increasingly devastating hurricanes in Henderson County).
  • Wood shingle tiles are popular in homes with a more “rustic” look than modern homes. These roof tiles offer a preferred look at a fraction of the price of real wood without requiring extensive maintenance.
  • CertainTeed Roofing & Shingles: Integrity Roofing is pleased to offer its residential roofing clients in Henderson County a unique product: CertainTeed Roofing & Shingles. These asphalt roofing shingles are made by one of the top manufacturers in the country and offer a unique blend of durability, style, and luxury at an affordable price. The “Luxury” series offers laminated shingles that give the “old world” look with a modern twist, while the “Landmark” series is backed by a first-in-class warranty that makes homeowners feel confident in their purchase.

No matter which material you choose, Integrity Roofing provides reliable service and maintains a strong commitment to safety during every roofing project. We estimate each project accurately and ensure all work is completed to the highest standards.

Commercial Roofing Needs in Henderson County

Commercial roofing needs in Henderson County are slightly different from residential needs. While the average homeowner will focus on a combination of appearance and functionality, a commercial property owner will prioritize functionality above all else. Our expertise in commercial roof replacement and roof replacement for businesses ensures that your project is handled with professionalism and industry knowledge.

This doesn’t mean that a commercial roof can’t look good. On the contrary, Integrity Roofing prides itself on making commercial roofs look stunning at an affordable price. But our company understands, above all else, that a commercial client’s satisfaction lies in functionality. As a trusted contractor, we bring professional service and expertise to every commercial roofing project, ensuring your business is covered from start to finish.

With all the commercial roofers in the area, why choose Integrity for your roofing needs in Henderson County?

  • We have in-house financing. Local businesses could use a little “extra help,” especially today. Integrity Roofing offers in-house financing for as little as $500, with no equity or pre-payment penalty. By offering in-house financing, Integrity Roofing provides peace of mind to local businesses while allowing them to manage their finances the best way they know how.
  • We provide free inspections. Do you need a new roof, or do you need a repair? Because not every local business is “construction savvy,” the answer to that question may be, “I don’t know.” That’s why Integrity Roofing offers free inspections to each client, allowing them to make an informed decision about their roofing needs.
  • We’re local, just like you. Integrity Roofing isn’t a subsidiary of a larger corporation based in New York or California: we’re a local business, just like you. That means our roofing professionals understand the unique needs of Henderson County businesses, which means we can offer you products that are right for your local business, not for our bottom line.
  • We’re committed to quality and Integrity. At Integrity Roofing, we say, “Our name is our promise.” We do the job right the first time, every time, ensuring that you’ll get a long-lasting, durable roof for your business that will serve you for years to come.

Other Services Available

In addition to roofing repair and replacement, Integrity Roofing offers a myriad of other services, including:

  • Gutter services. Integrity Roofing offers gutter installation and maintenance, ensuring that water flow – especially from extreme weather conditions like hurricanes – remains at its peak and protects the property from water damage.
  • Siding services. Maintaining your home’s siding isn’t just about making it look good – it’s also about making it safe from the elements. Integrity Roofing’s siding services will ensure your home’s siding is always at its peak so that you won’t have burnout repair bills down the line.
  • Roof ventilation and skylights. These services are essential for commercial buildings, which need proper ventilation for building code purposes. In addition to providing roof ventilation, roof skylights provide natural light to commercial buildings, which can sometimes be dark and dingy by design.
  • Insurance claims. As severe weather continues pummeling Henderson County, Integrity Roofing rises to the occasion. Our team of experts has years of experience dealing with insurance companies and their requirements, and we’re here to help you navigate the most difficult of waters so you can focus on what’s important: getting you, your family, and your business back to normal after a devastating storm.

I Installed A 30 Year Shingle Should Be Good For 30 Years…Right?

Unfortunately, that is not true. The manufacturer’s guarantee is a bit deceiving.

The 30-year manufacturer warranty (or 25, 40, or lifetime) is against manufacturer’s defects. Most new roof structures are designed to supply beneficial services ranging from 15, 20 even 25 years. Some roof system types such as slate and metal structures can last longer.

The actual roof system life span is determined by way of a wide variety of factors, including local climatic and environmental conditions, suitable building and roof system design, quality and suitability, ideal application and adequate roof maintenance.

Therefore, a 30 yr shingle will most likely not last 30 years. We have seen 30-year shingles need to be changed after 10 years due to extreme climatic and environmental conditions. Roofing product manufacturers provide a range of warranties on their products.

Take a close look at these warranties to see what duties and financial responsibilities manufacturers will assume if their merchandise fails to reach their product’s life expectancy.

How Can I Spot A Failing Roof?

When you’re trying to determine how healthy your roof is, the first thing to note is its age. An asphalt roof that’s older than 20 years is overdue for replacement. This is the easiest way to get ahead of the damages that go along with an aging roof, but younger roofs can develop problems too, which is why it’s good to inspect your roof at least twice a year.

Inspection is easy since you can do it from the ground with a good pair of binoculars. Look for shingles that are curling, areas where they’ve cracked or maybe gone missing, or shingles that are missing the granules on top.

Additionally, you might consider heading to the attic on a sunny day to check for holes where light peeks through in the underside of your roof. Problem spots tend to be near the chimney and stack vents.

If your roof is beginning to fail, you’ll see pinholes of sunlight peeking through, indicating that your roof could use a bit of maintenance.

While you’re up there, be sure to check for wet spots in the ceiling. If you see anything suspicious, call a roofer immediately–water damage that has seeped all the way to the attic can be a serious problem.

Does My Roof Need To Be Replaced?

Composition or asphalt shingles typically wear in a discreet way. Granules start coming off leaving black patches showing. Shingles also start to curl at the ends.

In general, some people assume if a roof leaks they need to replace it. Unless it’s an older roof, leaks can normally be repaired. With leaking in older roofs and/or if your roof has a leak in more than one area, this can imply trouble.

Can I Do The Work Myself?

Most roofing work should not be a homemade project. Professional roofing contractors are skilled to safely & correctly repair or replace a roof.

Do-it-yourself can damage a roof with unsuitable roofing strategies and can harm themselves by way of falling through the roof or even falling off the roof.

A do-it-yourself roofing task more often than not results in extra prices and headaches for the owner of a house in the long run.

Can We Add A Second Layer Of Shingles Over An Existing Layer?

Although the benefits of leaving your old shingles are obvious (cheaper, much less labor, faster), unless the preliminary roof is a single, problem-free layer, you could be setting yourself up for trouble.

You should take off the old roof if any of the following are true:

  • Inspection indicates it is in terrible shape—shingles are curled, mossy, split, etc.
  • The decking is sagging, rotting or deteriorating.
  • The new roof is of a lighter material than the original roof. If you put light-weight shingles over heavyweight shingles, all of the old bumps and ridges from the original roof will still show.

Your roof already has more than one layer.

At Integrity Roofing, LLC, we do not do recovers, we believe removing the old shingles and underlayment is necessary to inspect the roof decking. This imperative to assure there are no underlying issues that would cause the new roof to leak.

What Is Flashing?

There are a lot of roofing blogs out there that tell homeowners to check their flashing for damage regularly, but not a lot of them explain what exactly flashing is: it’s the material that’s used over joints in roof construction. It functions as an added layer of protection that keeps water from seeping into vulnerable areas like the valleys in your roof, the area around pipes and your chimney, and around any skylights. Most flashing is made out of aluminum or galvanized steel. From time to time it can come loose or deteriorate at a faster rate, allowing leaks to form in those vulnerable areas.

Luckily, flashing problems are an easy fix, so long as you catch them quickly. Typically you can just add new flashing, or secure the old flashing back down with a roofing adhesive. This is something handy homeowners might be able to do on their own, but if you’re unsure about working on the roof, it’s best to save yourself the stress and just call a professional. Flashing fixes are quick and inexpensive.
